Portfolio Recovery
Portfolio recovery is coming after on an old debt from 16 years ago, what should i do? Jackson Tennessee Norfolk, Vanorfolk Virginia

I was first contacted by portfolio recovery last month, jan. I answered the phone not knowing who it was. I just told the man i had no money. I got another call today, feb 25, but i did not answer it after reading all of the posts on this website. This is an old debt after my divorce in 1990. Anyway, went on with my life, forgot about it unitil i remarried. I knew it was on my credit report, but it disappeared from my credit report about 1999 or 2000.

My concern is after reading all of these posts can they reage the account? My credit is good now. I did pull my credit reports today and did notice that transunion showed an inquiry from porfolio recovery. How can they reage an account? Where do i get the necessary documents that i have read on this website? I dont want them to ruin my credit that i have built up over the years. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
