US Bank Outrageous Fees
Is it legal to charge $7.00 per day for negative balances?

Business & Finance

I have used US Bank for about a year now, even though I was planning to close my account a few months ago, I still decided to keep it open wih just a few dollars, in case I needed it in the future. Last month as I was out of the country, there was a charge that came trugh in my account, (which by the way was un-autorized). The charge put my account $5.00 overdraft, so I transfered $20.00 to take care of it. Well, Ididn't have much access to internet or didn't felt safe accesing my account in a different country, and I didn't check until today that I came back home, to my great surprise, they added $34.00 overdraft fee, wich of course put the account to a negative balance, then on top of that they are charging $7.00 per day for having a negative balance in the account. It seems like banks this days are allowed to set up their own fees on small things. When I contacted the bank, I was told that since the fees were not due to a bank error, there was nothing they could do about it. I just don't understand how can they still be in business with the poor customer service, and the business practices. They are hurting themselves, because they are loosing customers. I recomend anyone who is thinking about opening an account wih US BANK to think twice..
