Portfolio Recovery Associates
Credit Report

I have received several letters from Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC., they indicate I owe them $19,462.68. They stated my account was purchased from Chase Manhattan Bank in 1-24 after my ex husband was awarded this credit card bill as part of the divorce settlement the balance at the time was $9,960 as reported in my credit report and not $19,462.68.

I have tried contacting Chase Manhattan Bank the account was closed. I tried explaining to Portfolio Recovery the situation and they are rude and indicated to "just" send us a check for the total amount. Are they stupid... I have had several calls to my cell and my home phone and I can not reason with this people.

The account was removed from my credit report on December. Please help me and offer a way to get the off my back...
