Aegis Mortgage Company
We refinanced with Aegis Mortgate in 2005. They reappraised my home at $420,000 making my mortgage go up to $2,600 per month without taxes. My husband had no choice to file bankruptcy

We are fiing a report against Aegis Mortgage Co. A client came into our home back in July of making promises of a cash out check, taxes to be included, etc. Unfortunately, not knowing much about mortgages and getting things in writing we were taken to the cleaners. They had their own appraiser come up to my home which as we all know mortgage companies have a way of getting a house appraised at a high enough mortgage so they can make out on the deal and get the client the mortgage in itself. I have three small children and our lives have been in such turmoil since this event.

I was not on the loan of the mortgage, therefore, my husband claimed bankruptcy, Chapter 7 on his own just to get the house off his hands under the advice of his attorney. We are currently renting a nice house in the same vicinity, however, it disturbs us very much that Aegis is getting away with this. I would like an attorney to contact me if he feels we have a case.

My husband's attorney mentioned a Predatory Lending Suite which he felt Aegis did us wrong. My house was reappraised at $420,000 which we both knew that it was not worth. Now my credit stinks because I have been trying to pay off my bills and my biggest concern is my three children. I need someone to help me with this because I do not know where else to turn to.

The funny thing is, rather than working with my husband and I as I had tried on many occasions, they are now selling my old in Cumberland, RI for approx. $240,000. We were even under a forebearance agreement with them and they told us not to worry we will work it. Well so much for that.

I think these mortgage companies have no right giving mortgages out to folks that cannot possibly make their monthly payments. It is a gimmic. Yes being adults we should have realized this but on the flipside if you cannot count on truthfulness from a mortgage company I feel they are to blame just as well.

I would appreciate it very much if someone could contact me from Rhode Island possibly an attorney to see if we have a predatory lending suite or some other restitution that can be done through Aegis Mortgage Company. I am certainly not looking for money just compensation for the nervousness, turmoil, and lies Aegis Mortgage gave us... We would like to buy a house in about a year. I have a good job now and I do not know how we can do this with what Aegis Mortgage has done to my husband's credit report along with myself trying to pay off my bills... It is very hard with children because as we all know they come first in our lives and I need them to be secure which they are currently but I certainly worry about the future.
