American Standard Financial LYING AND STEALING from broke, unsuspecting, needy COLLEGE STUDENTS!

I am a 24 year old, 7th year college student who has $27 in my bank account. These people called me offering me a free Government grant that are tax free and I don't have to pay back because they saw that I had a need. After the woman, with a hard to understand and fast talking accent explained that I have been approved for a grant I asked SEVERAL questions because it seemed too good to be true.

After I agreed, she said that she had to record some information and that I was not to ask any questions during the recording. The first time, while she was talking, I heard her say that they will send me information on how to apply for grants. I IMMEDIATELY stopped her and said "hold up. No, no, NO! I don't want to pay $359 for information on how to get a grant, you told me that I was ALREADY APPROVED. I don't want this unless I'm already approved."

She then stopped the recording, sounding annoyed, and then reassured me that it is NOT information on how to apply for the grants and that I have indeed already been approved for a grant in an amount that would be decided upon after I tell them what I intend to use it for. After her assurance, I agreed to start the recording again where they got my information and whatnot.

I asked SEVERAL questions because I know that there are scam artists out there, but this lady was such a great liar that she fooled even me. The money was taken out of my account on September 21. I have yet to recieve anything from them. I decided to google their name and these rip off reports showed up. I'm pretty sure that this is the same thing that happened to me.

This is particularly hurtful to me because I do indeed have $27 in my bank account and I have bills to pay. It is just plain wrong to LIE and DECIEVE people, especially when they ask you over and over about the specifics of what they are doing.
