HSBC Bank Senior Abuse Indentity Theft Protection ID Theft Promise of Money

This is unbelievable... My elderly mother received a call for a promise of money. They said I had called them but they would not/could not call me, they had to have the information from her. They said if she gave them money, they would send the refund I had requested to her. (That's the classic pigeon-drop shell game.)

She told them she didn't have the money. She told them they needed to call me. And they told her they refused to call me. (DOH!) They said "they would take care of it." Yeah, right.

They NEVER told her she was ordering Identity Theft Protection. They said it was a refund I had called about! She doesn't need ID theft protection. She has ID theft RESTORATION as a free service through www.credit-trax.info. Its a great service. You file a police report, send them a copy, and they do the rest. Membership has its privilages!

The "check" just came through her bank, showing up this morning online...
* the amount is not "$69.00" like their name says but $369.00!
* the numbers in the 'write dollars' section of the check is $5369.00!
* the words written say three hundred sixty nine (praise God the bank didn't use the "numbers" written!
* the phone number they list on the check has been disconnected
* the web domain (URL) has been ordered, cancelled and refunded several times with both American, Asian and Spanish based companies!

It appears her bank had not sent the funds yet, and it may not be paid. That means they can still reject it.
