What Mod Squad?

Called the company's Mod Squad and informed the individual that my wife and I will have difficulty with the new $4000 payment. The individual took all the info on how much my wife and I make and what expenses we incur on a monthly basis. At the end of the conversation, it turned out that all he wanted to say that we needed to prioritize our expenses. I laid down every expense and they are mostly utilities and dues for the 2 kids we have. He was not willing to help because we are still current and that he does not see any room for the modification. I believe that the promise made by them to help modify loans is just a bait for them to update their records. The individual was uncaring and made me feel irresponsible even though we are current and our difficulties are due to the fact that everything around us is getting expensive and our salaries stayed the same. We cannot refi because we have a $12K prepayment penalty and the value of our home is no longer up there to cover everything. I think EMC is not there to help out. I think if worse comes to worst, they can have my home.
