I opened an account about 5 months ago. All was well until now. This is when I realize how badly the representatives treat their customers. I further digress. This is how my situation occurred. I had a doctor's appointment at a local clinic. The personnel didn't understand my coverage and had me write a check for the office visit. The check was for $50 and came at a bad time as I had not been paid yet on the job. My insurance policy is an HRA which meant that I did not have to pay out of pocket yet to meet the deductible. There are no copays to the plan I have but the clinic did not call my insurance company to verify the coverage. After a bit of haggling, I decided to place a stop payment on the check in question. The clinic is going to get reimbursed by the insurance but I should not have to suffer a hardship by giving them extra money and then sending it to me later.

I called the bank and gave them the necessary information to stop payment for this check. The cost of doing that was $32. I wanted to do so at least so that I could put gas in my car for the early commute. I went online to see what the status was. The bank entered the wrong check number. They entered 1005 instead of 1007 (true check). 10005 doesn't exist. I called the customer service line and sent messages through email to ask that they reverse the fees since the check went through and I needed my money as I was struggling. I got a canned response through both email and telephone as to contact the branch for assistance. When I called the branch, the representative was unfriendly and had me on hold for a while. Then when she came on, she proceeded to chastise me in regards to stopping payment on a certain date. I told her I didn't know the clinic's practices as far as deposits and I called your company to gain assistance and resolve this issue. The branch manager was no help at all either so I got tired of hearing the attacks on me which was on my cell phone and hung up. I sent another email telling them that I am moving my direct deposits respectfully to another bank and that I will close my account. The customer service levels are unacceptable and I don't need to be treated badly to realize that they are only looking towards money. This typo with the check number was an error on their part and they were unwilling to resolve this matter.

I only opened the account because it was convenient for me when shopping at Walmart but I know that there is a price to everything. The fees are totally ridiculous. That is the reason why they will not help but I know just for the few short months I have had an account with them, I am looking elsewhere. I wish that I could have read the reviews before opening an account with them.
