American Loans
I was contacted on July 20 by Alyson James @ the so called American Loans. She confirmed information regarding my address, phone number, and knew I had been inquiring about a loan over the internet. Ripoff

I was contacted by the so called Alyson James on Saturday, July 20. She had my personal information and knew that I was in search of a loan for $5000. I months ago applied for a loan through a loan broker online. I suspect this is how my information was given to Alyson.

Alyson discussed with me the terms of the loan. She also gave me options on how to secure my loan. I could either secure the loan with my homeownership or pay a security deposit of $678.00. I, of course, chose to use the security deposit. Alyson emailed a copy of the loan details and the contract. The contract looked and seemed to be legitimate. After reading the paperwork, I contacted Alyson to let her know I received the paperwork.

Alyson, instructed me that I would need to include a copy of my bankstatement, drivers license, and copy of a blank check along with the loan contract. She informed me that it would take 10 days to process my paperwork. She went on to advise me that I could have the money direct deposited into my bank account that would take anywhere from 6 to 24 hours or I could have it delivered by a courier which would take 2 to 3 days after the paperwork was processed.

Alyson also instructed me to Western Union my payment of $678 to Eric Potter. I questioned who Eric Potter was and she informed me that he was the underwriter for the loans. This made sense to me. She gave me the information for the Western Union made payable to Eric Potter, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This I didn't do for ten days after forwarding the contract back to Alyson. I felt a bit skeptical and should have stayed in that frame of mind and saved myself the headache of this mess.

I contacted Alyson and gave her the mtcn number of the Western Union. She was to return my phone call within an hour on this same day and let me know when my direct deposit would be available. After about 2 hours, I contacted the company and of course Alyson was not available. I spoke with the receptionist who's name I do not have. The receptionist told me she would have Alyson return my phone as soon as possible. Well, to this day Alyson has not contacted me. However, I was contacted by Christina White.

Christina White is from their accounting department. Unfortunately, I was not able to speak directly to Christina. She left a voice mail for me to contact her at 866-516-2817 as soon as possible. Well, I tried to contact her and got that annoying answering machine. Christina didn't leave me an extension to reach her. I then started punching in numbers and happened to come up with extension 111 for customer service which was also a recorded message. I came up with other extensions as well. Neither of these were for Christina, so I left messages on every extension that worked.

To this day I haven't received any return phone calls from anyone at this so called company or have I gotten through to speak to a live person. This is so annoying. I have made more than 100 calls to these crooks daily for a week, leaving multiple messages expressing my frustration. I know now that this too is a waste of time.

I have contacted Western Union and filed a consumer fraud report of this company. I am in the process of contacting my local, state and federal authorities. I will also contact the credit bureaus as well.
