Oklahoma Wrong in forceplacing homeowners insurance, unwilling to reverse error, FORECLOSURE

Our mortgage was sold to Midland Mortgage Co a year after we purchased the home. It was only a year later that they force placed homeowners insurance on the home. We already had insurance on the house and they were paying for the coverage through escrow payments.By the time we noticed the error, Midland Mtg was already looking to forclose on our home. When we prompted Midland Mtg to this error they had tacked on late fee after late fee. They finally took most of the insurance off the home but by that point they were showing us as being almost 6 months behind in payments. We were making monthly payments but were not including their forced insurance. They were so kind as to make payment arrangements so that we could get back on track; they increased the payments by $150 a month to cover all the fees and payments we "supposedly" missed. They couldn't see that none of the fees should have ever been on the account because this was their error, not mine! We worked with their loss mitigation department for over a year, made payments as agreed. Just as we were to be out of loss mitigation we had a financial hiccup; I had 2 deaths in my immediate family and missed work; thus missing income. They then said we were in default of the agreement and pursued foreclosure. I ended up having to go to my county government for a loan to keep us from loosing our home. All of this was due to force placed home owners insurance!!! I was never so happy to sell that house and get out from under that company. I hate that we paid so much more money than we should have to that company but the biggest hang up I still have is: having the negative reporting to the credit bureau! This keeps us from getting any decent credit ratings and prevents us from getting decent interest rates.

With all the negative comments about this company - how can they possibly be in business; why hasn't there been any class action suits?
