Bank Of America Visa
Bank Of America - - BOA Knowingly false advertises, provides false credit information, BOA and FTC nonaction ripoff Wilmington Delaware

Business & Finance

Bank of America knowingly and falsely advertises that payments can be made in their Bill Pay service to Bank of America Visa cards. However, after you schedule a payment to be made the same day, the following day comes and a late fee automatically appears on your Visa Statement.

Upon contacting Bank of America about this, their reply was that although they claim same day payments, that it is really not the case and it takes at least one business day to process a payment. They stated that I should "rest assured" that the late payment will be reversed.

Yes, it was reversed, but not until AFTER the damage was done.in the process of all of this, they reported to ALL THREE CREDIT AGENCIES that my high balance was the amount WITH THE LATE FEE ADDED and that I had EXCEEDED MY CREDIT LIMIT.

I again, discussed this issue in writing with Bank of America and they refused to answer my issues in writing, telling me they would only talk over the telephone about this issue.

I immediately reported all of these issues to the Fair Trade Commission and was told that they can't help me because this is a bank with the words "NA" after their name and I have to file my complaint with some division of banking.

If these people are knowingly advertising false information, knowingly reporting false information to a consumer reporting agency, and refusing to answer these issues in writing, then why can't the FTC address the issue and prosecute and/or fine the heck out of these people?

I would like to hear any ideas anyone has about how to make Bank of America address, correct and pay (both financially and public statement) about these actions.
