Adjusting My Balance Higher on my Car Loan ripoff

I bought a Nissan Sentra in 1993 for a little over 12,000. I have been paying extra payments on this car. Centrix did not post them as payment and as of 2007 I still owe 12,000 on this car and now another financial company is sending me statement with no balance or nother on their ledger. I'm trying to refinance or something. I need help!
