My grandmother who lives with me recieved a call at 10:00pm on June 20. They called claiming she owes a huge medical bill, and at first told her that she NEEDED to get a MASTERCARD (no visa, american express just MASTERCARD) in order to pay her debt off. Refusing a Money order. First off, there hasn't been a single medical bill sent to my house (she lives with me, i am her caregiver) about any money owed, and the hospital itself has not called here once about it. (They typically call... About a bill problem) I called them back today, and the lady asked what number they called, being stupid i gave her my home number and my grandmother cell number. They said when i gave them my home number it came up as my husbands account, which he hasnt been seen at the ER in years, and hasnt recieved a letter stating it was being turned over to a collection company. Then they say that a money order can be accepted, and they will except a 15.00 dollar payment.

They then preceeded to ask for my husbands SS number and when i can "pay off his debt" my answere to them was " we havent recieved any notice about any debt collection on any account with his name." They got cocky and hung up the phone.

What company, atleast a respectable company calls anyone at 10pm? Exspecailly for an elderly lady. We will not be sending any money to them, becuase none of it sounded right to begin with. We will be calling the billing department at the local hospital to see what is owed for sure, and set up payments with them. AFter reading all of these compliants, i will not let them continue to harrass us, our number will be changed and thier number blocked.
