Ripoff dishonest collection practices

I just received a letter from Trilogy attempting to collect a "debt" of $9006.30 for a company called Union Acceptance Company. I have never heard of UAC. I looked them up online and is a company that is defunct as of 2002.

I attempted to call D.L. Marteen, at his extension shown on the letter and said not an active extension. The name on the letter to me is close to spelling of my last name, but not correct. Tried to call Trilogy and just got voice mail.

If collection shows up on my credit report, will be contacting a lawyer very quickly.
