Capital One Credit Card
Inept and unresponsive business practices

I have 3 hotel charges, (Embassy Suites, Tampa) that I am disputing since February. I sent the original detailed dispute letter with a copy of the hotel bill proving the charges were added after check-out. I paid the entire bill minus the $250 disputed amount, as is customary with any legitimate credit card company.
First, they charged me a late fee.
Second, I waited hours, no exaggeration, to speak to several customer service representatives. One actually said that I had to send them a copy of the Capital One bill, he was not able to look up the charges in question even though I was telling him the transaction numbers! A supervisor finally "found" my letter and documentation and admitted that it was well documented but said that I had to respond to each of the three disputes individually.
After faxing these with the form letters from Capital One saying that I needed to document each charge, and calling each time to confirm they have been received, I continued to get letters saying that I had not responded.
Now I am told that they are unable to resolve the charges, I don't believe they even tried, and I must ask for it to be treated as fraud. Well, why didn't they tell me that in February!
I can't believe this is a company that spends millions on entertaining commercials, yet can't deal with its customers in a sane manner. "All Hassles" would be a more apt slogan.
