Ripoff, terrible phone systems, rude representatives

Several years ago I had a Capitol One credit card. Unfortunatly I lost my job and was more concerned with having food on my table than paying this $300 credit card. After the interest got up to about $1500 they finally garnished my wages at my new job. They took $70 a week for 17 weeks and I thought it was all over, well 5 years later I try to refinance my house and I discover that MANN BRACKEN LLC had bought the remainder of the Capitol One account and had a lien on my home for $700 balance.

I was so mad but I knew I had to take care of this to refinance. So I contacted them and of course got somebody that had trouble speaking english, go figure. So I let them take the $700 from my checking account but was not told that the funds would not clear for 30 days. I was never told that. I called back to find out that if I would have sent it western union that it would have cleared faster. After they received my money that I thought was totally ripped off, I spent weeks trying to get them to Fax the loan company a simple letter saying that they settled for $700 not the amount on my credit report of $1200, which I have no clue where that came from??? Their phone systems are horrible, I would get transferred every time I called and eventually get disconnected. Even the supervisors would not help me. All I wanted was a simple LETTER, just stating that I had paid but NOOOO! I had to go through 500 loops to get that done. I hate it for anyone that has had to deal with these ill mannered bill collectors. I know I am not the only one. I did see another article online about how they had ripped people off. Just an FYI... If you ever get anything from them, they are awful, just plain awful!
