Compass Bank
Ripoff Grossly excessive NSF: $243 charge on questionable $2 overdrawn

Business & Finance

Other Banks charge: One $36 NSF charge for an overdrawn item. Compass charges: One initial $38 charge for an overdrawn item.
Then, another $38 after 5 days outstanding
Then, another $7/day thereafter for a whole month
That is how one questionable $2 overdrawn item can amount to $243 (and climbing).
Again, "other" banks: $2 over = $36 NSF
"Compass" bank: $2 over = $243 per item NSF

So, if a person makes a simple accounting error and, say, has 4 items go NSF, the simple mistake would cost them over $1000. Is that fair? Should that be 'reasonably' legal for one rogue bank to bully its customers like that? When Compass makes a simple accounting error, do they compensate their customers' in like manner? They have errored with me in the past and they refunded the amount of their error; but, they certainly did not pay like-kind compensation.

Please contact me if you have an interest in exploring legal action, perhaps even class action. I am certainly interested in lobbying for legistative action on such wildly excessive fee schemes.
