Ripoff Legal Fee

Don't trust Wachovia Bank, they take pleasure in charging fees when they are not justified. This type of charging throughout the country is out of hand.

My wife had a judgment against her and we have a joint account (that Wachovia won't allow us to change to single user) that I receive a disability pension from UK every month. To change bank's would be such a pain, but something I most likely will do now.

1) Bank are aware that only funds in account come from disability pension, which under New York State Law is not restrainable.

2) Notes on account indicate that fact.

3) Legal Department in Philidelphia as a matter of policy just act upon Informational Subpoenas without doing any research in account and charge a fee of $100

4) This has now happened to me three times and on each occassion the restraint is withdrawn, but Wachovia Bank still charge the fee.

Even though they "knowingly" are aware of the source of the funds and New York State Law allows them to decline an Informational Subpoena, they claim its my responsibility to advise the creditor and the creditor withdraw request. But they are entitled to there fee.

Banks in general have no interest in customer service and I have no doubt they train staff to ensure that bank make additional $ from fees that they really should not charge.

I think the time has come for "the people" to revolt against these banks and there fees and that there should be State/Federal Investigations into the practices of the banks in relation to fees/interest charges... Or... Are the lawmakers scared of bucking there funding sources for elections.

The UK and European Union have come down heavily on bank practices and States/Federal Investigators should review the BBC's Whistleblower Program as those practices are here in the US. Big time.
