Ripoff did not have time to rip me off

Ameritrust Financial contacted me on my cell phone about 8:30 PM, that should have been my first clue. They congradulated me on being approved for a $2,000.00 line of credit and also available cash withdrawels for this line of credit.

They then transferred me to a man who must have had lessons in speed talking because I repeatedly had to tell him to slow down. He proceeded to tell about the vouchers to repay my $200.00 security deposit but never once mentioned any catologs or having to purchase their merchandise.

I was excited because I had never been approved for a credit card before and that should have been my second clue. I gave him all of my personal information including bank account number, routing number, mother's maiden name, social security number, and a number of other things.

Yes, they did say that the conversation is recorded for verification and when they ask you specific questions that you should only respond to that question or it will interfere with the final approval. When I was at this step, I repeatedly had to ask him to slow down and he seemed very agitated that I didn't follow the instructions of only responding to their questions.
Fortunately for me, after the phone call ended I became suspicious because it was all too easy and looked up Ameritrust Financial on the Internet and could only find reports to this site and the Usa Consumer Complaints.com.
I went to my bank the following morning at 8:30 AM and had to put a hold on my account where nothing could be taken out, then open another account and transfer the money I had in my checking account to that other account so these rip of artists could not touch it.

Take it from me, no one is going to give you anything that you have not earned or don't deserve. Credit Cards are not given away to people who have made poor credit decisions in the past. It almost happened to me once but will never happen to me again
