A win of sorts, but have a question ripoff

NCO received my request for validation on 11/30/06 and in today's mail (in a letter dated 1/16/07 - 2 weeks after the 30 day validation deadline) I received a notice saying their were turning back to the original creditor. Could there be a $1,000 compensation due me because they failed to respond in the 30 days? (I was writing my "you never responded to my validation request letter" when I received their notice.

This could be couple with the NCO rep NEVER told me who she was AND then called and left a voice mail saying she with our County and I needed to return her call immediately. *Yes, I have a copy of the voice mail...
