Not obeying the law

I got a letter from this company stating that I owed them a debt. I called them (no need to say, I know now calling was a mistake) and asked what was up with this. She told me it was for a medical bill in 2001. I told her that they got the wrong person. I was a minor then and legally is could not fall back on me. She then proceeded to bully me, saying that I had to pay or it would go on my credit report. Her manager then yelled at me, stating that because I was a minor then and not now, it did not matter. Wrong, it does. (At this time the company who they bought this junk debt from will not even talk to me.)

Sent a letter (signature required) for validation of this debt. They sent me an itemized print-out from their computer. But, this had the date and proves I was not yet 18. They still are saying it is my responsibility. So I call and ask for an actual verification. The guy yells and me saying he would not send it and hung up on me.

So I go straight to the source. I get my medical records for the stay in question.in the part of the billing responsibilities, it does not even MENTION my name. And it is NOT my signature.

This does not seem to be good enough for them. I was told that in a couple of weeks it will go on my credit report, even with this proof. I was told that the only way I can get rid of this is to pay. This will not happen.

A company should not be allowed to do this! They are breaking the law in so many ways. I have already contacted an attorney and filed a complaint with the Attorney General in my state.
