Due Date NOT Due Date—It's a Late Fee Date

Due date located in statement is not the actual day one can make payment otherwise payment is late. If one is making payment on the due and gets a message that posting will cause the payment to be late, one has the option to make a "rush payment" and be charged a fee.

I'm fed up with these cards that use 3rd party billing and claim they don't do so for the purpose of collecting fees. Well, it appears they do! There is no clear indication, where the due date is located, that if one attempts payment on that date, they will most definietly be assessed a late fee.in this case, $35.00. Only when the actual payment is being made, does one realize posting will cause payment to be late.

I read somewhere or was told by a creditor, there's a law that states if the company's posting practice causes the customers payment to be late, when in fact they paid on or before the due date stated, then the company cannot charged a late fee. I've mentioned this in some cases with another card and the fee was waived as they agreed that there's such a "law".

If there isn't, there ought to be. Some lawyer out there needs to take this case as a class action suit and bring these companies to task for their misleading people into thinking the "due date" on the statement is actual and real. It's not!
