Phony collection letter ripoff

This may not be the proper channel, but I wanted to thank this site for information about NCO Financial.

I recieved a letter this am from them about my owing $95.60 (for an AOL account).
I have never had an AOL account.

I googled NCO Financial, came to your site.
What I read was encouraging in that others had recieved similar bogus letters.

However it was, (ironically enough), the rebuttal posting that was most helpful.

In the rebuttal, a working number for NCO was given (the number on the letter was not working), so I called them.
I said that I recieved a letter about an AOL account and the person answering said 'all those accounts have been cancelled'.

Thanks again for your help. (While I knew I did not owe any money the nagging concern would have been toxic to may day.)
