Illegitimate account solicitation, Strong arm tactics & Threats Ripoff

A Customer service Rep from OSI contacted my today in regards to a Capitol One account balance for an account that I do not even own! After several non succesful attempts on their behalf to gather personal information I was informed that the amount on the mystery account was in excess of 1,900.00 dollars.in regards to recent phishing scams and id theft concerns I told the rep I felt the issue was non legit. THey rebutted by saying it didnt matter and I would have to pay the amount anyway. I told them not to call again and was told they continue calling until the amount was settled. A formal complaint has been filed with the BBB as well as with the FCC. I contacted the Capitol One Fraud hotline and verfied my account standings. All is correct and no outstanding balances. When asked about affiliation with OSI, I was informed by Capitol One Reps that they are not affiliated by one individual and that they were by another. Who knows, now adays it seems like you need a court room to get a straight answer by anyone! With so many scams out there it seems like every american individual needs an Army of thier own to protect themselves against the financial fiascos that we are subjected to!
