Ripoff, do not comply with their own rules, return earrings with no explanation

This company is questionable at the very least. They advertise that they want home workers to make beaded earrings, no experience necessary.

I have been doing beadwork for approximately 25 years. This includes earrings, hair clips, necklaces and key chains. Some are made as gifts, some to sell and some for myself. Some are plain and some are done with intricate designs of my own. All are made according to Native American specifications, having learned in that manner.

When I first decided to make earrings for Capital Crafts, I made the required pair to send in for inspection. Having 25 years experience, I assumed there would not be a problem with the quality of workmanship. WRONG!!! They sent the earrings back at least 5 times, each time saying there was something wrong with them, that the workmanship wasn't good enough. I made them according to their specs and still they said there was something wrong with them.

I bought materials from them to make 50 pairs, made 25 pairs and sent them in. They bought about half of them and sent the rest back to me with no explanation. It clearly states in their info sheet that when they send earrings back they will have an explanation why so they can be corrected.

The materials they sent to make the earrings were the cheapest available, yet they charged at least double, possible more than I would have paid from a craft store.

After I sent the original 25 pr to them, they kept telling me they had not received them. After 7 weeks I contacted USPS and reported them as lost. I contacted the company and told them I had reported the package as lost and suddenly the package was delivered to them.

The amount of money they pay for the earrings is ridiculous. There is no way possible to make more than about $1.00 per hour.

The next batch of 25 was delivered to them 2 days after being mailed. After 5 weeks I had heard nothing from the company so I contacted them to see what the status was. The girl I spoke with was very nasty and in the end I had them send that whole batch back to me. Now I have about 40 pr of earrings that I don't know what to do with. They are very definately not Native American quality.

I gave this company the benefit of the doubt. The last time I spoke with them was the final straw. They do not do what they claim in their info sheet, they charge too much for their materials, and they do not know how to deal with the people who are making the earrings. If anyone tries to make extra money through this company, it is nearly impossible.

They did however, refund the original amount paid for the started kit and the amount paid for the materials to make the 50 pr. Considering how much time it takes to make these earrings, that is not much money for the effort.
