Sold me diamond earrings for 550.00 that turned out to be glass earrings and NOT diamonds

I bought a pair of diamond stud earrings from The Diamond Center in Vallejo, CA for $550.00 as a Mother's Day gift for a good friend back in 2003. Recently, she needed money so I told her she could sell the earrings if she wanted to. I went with her to 2 separate jewelry stores that appraised the earrings with their diamond locator machine and found out that the stud "diamond" earrings were not diamonds, they were glass. Since The Diamond Center has left Vallejo, CA. And I can not find them anywhere on the map to settle this matter. I would have never known this if we didn't have the earrings appraised.
