Avon, IN Opened An Account W/o Auth. Ripoff

We have an auto loan through Forum Credit Union & in turn we received a savings account. We were fine with this. We had talked to a rep. Over the phone asking questions on our savings account & auto loan. The rep. Offered us a checking account. We advised her that we were not sure & she advised us that she would have the paperwork for us at the Avon branch if we decided to open a checking account.

We decided to stay w/the bank that we currently were with, so we decided not to go & sign any papers to open a checking account. Six months later I arrange with a company to have my monthly bills auto deducted from my savings account w/Forum. The next thing we know we are getting checking overdraft notices.

I talked to a rep & was told that an account was opened by the girl i takled to over the phone & our checking number is the same as our savings. We went to the Avon branch & talked to matt & tom & were assured that they would have these charges taken off due to the account being opened w/o any signature or paperwork being filled out. We were very happy with the service & decided to go ahead & open the checking account as long as the neg. Balance was wiped out. We were assured that it would be.

1 week later we get another notice that our account is suspended due to a neg. Balance. We have been talking to the cust serv dept & they advised that no notes were put on the account & advised us to call avon branch. We have been leaving multiple messages for the past 3 days & still no responce. Now we are being told our savings & auto loan is in jepordy, yet nobody will help us on this matter.

I am furious, cus this not only effects my life, money, transportation, but it is also seriously effecting our credit! My advise to everyone out there is not to talk to anyone about opening an account with forum credit union unless you want them to open an account without your permission!
