BB&T ripoff does not care about customers at all! Abused & mistreated

I've only banked with BB&T for 4 months. Every 2 weeks I would cash my payroll check and deposit money. One incident when the bank did not ackowledge my deposit and returned my check to the church I wrote it to, the bank that I set my account up with in Goose Creek, S.C., the manager returned the fee, which was okay. However, 2 weeks ago, I go to the Northwoods Branch BB&T to cash my check, and they tell me they cannot cash my check or give me money back because the amount in the account was too low.

After going into the bank and speaking with this lady I though was an assistant manager, she told me the same thing that the people at drive thru said. Matter a fact, I saw her standing there and laughing as if I was a joke. So I told her okay, since you want to be ignorant, I'll go to the Goose Creek branch and since they cash it every 2 weeks, it should be okay with them, but I will report this.

I then went to the Goose Creek branch, and the nastiest teller I've ever met told me that this woman from Northwoods branch called her and told her not to cash my check. She even smirked as if she was getting payback because I complained about her nastiness before.

I went to the "relationship banker" and asked what the problem was since they knew me, my payroll check (the company), and have cashed it every 2 weeks for 4 months. She called this same off the wall woman from Northwoods branch, who told her as I sat in her office that it seems the only reason I have a checkings account is to have somewhere to cash my checks.

I was so disgusted from the insult that I went back to work after an hour of trying to cash my check. I called the Florence, S.C. Branch and spoke to someone that I thought was in charge to complain about this, and they called me back the next day suggesting that I go to a check cashing place and establish a relationship with them.

What's the purpose of having a checkings account? If that be the case I never would have opened one, but kept cashing checks and paying 2% every 2 weeks to check cashing places, which is stupid. What's more stupid is the fact that I called every one in the chain of command for them except the President of the company, and they all told me the same thing that this idiot at the Northwoods bank told me; establish a relationship with a check cashing place. Now I am a divorced mom with 5 children.

How do you tell someone like me that you won't cash my check. Oh, I guess your children will just have to do without today, we've become nonchalant about the little people. Maybe if you put more money in the bank and let it stay in a little longer, we would treat you better. I have direct deposits that go to my checkings account monthly that are over $1000.00.

If they thought I was trying to rip them off, couldn't they have considered that? At any rate, I've never been so humiliated in front of a large group of people in my life, and keep my account to the bare minimum (cents) now because I refuse to let them make any money off of me. Furthermore, after May has ended, I'm moving my direct deposits to a bank that actually care about the people that bank with them.
