Insurance ripoff, holding us hostage

The people of Florida are being held hostage by the insurance industry and it needs to stop! We live in Florida and we live in a mobile home and we can not insure our home against hurricane damage to save our lives. Let me expain as I know some of you out there will immediately say DUH!!! We have lived in a mobile home for 14 years now and of all the hurricanes that have been thrown our way we have only 1 claim for damages. We have had insurance through Lloyds for the last 3 years and last year we paid $680.00 for our policy including hurricane coverage. This year we are paying $1100.00 for just basic insurance coverage with no hail or wind damage included. We tried to change companies but can not find one to cover us. We can not even get the "State Owned" coverage because we did not get a non-renewal letter. This insurance crap has gotten out of control. What are we supposed to do? When will the congress step in and take a stand. I have written Govenor Bush, my senators, congressman, attorney general and the insurance commission and get the same pat answer. Sorry can not help you. Watch what happens now in the North because of the recent floods. I am telling you we pay in money year after year and they invest that money yet when you need them they disappear. Any suggestions or help would be nice.
