HARASSEMENT ripoff

A year ago today (7-7-05) we had all gathered at my mother-n-laws for a meal after the funeral of my father-n-law. The phone rang it was for my husband. It was a representative from Greentree, apparently in all the confusion of my father-n-laws death we had forgot to mail our payment. I can understand a call of reminder, but, to find the name in the obituaries and call a dead man's son at the wake. This was not only harassment but, I felt embrassed for my husband and his whole family.

My husband explained to the representative the situtation and asked that he not call this number and hung up. At least 6 more times this representative called my mother-n-laws home within a two hour period knowing full well that this was a day of morning for our family. This was on called for.

Upon arriving at home and checking our answering machine there was at least 20 more messages from this same representative. These ranged from cordial to out right threatening. This representative did not apparently have any feeling or compassion for anyone. We explained that things had been slightly hectic with the passing of my father-n-law and that we would place the payment in the mail first thing in the morning. He insisted that we find a western union office and send the payment at that very moment or our loss that day would also include our home.

Are these representatives taken aside and trained to be so cold hearted or do they seek them out in their job interviews? I personally would recommend to anyone seeking financial assistance in purchasing a mobile home DO NOT GO THROUGH GREENTREE YOU WILL PAY 2x'S THE AMOUNT THAT YOU FINANCE AND YOU WILL BE TREATED VERY COLDLY WHEN YOU NEED A LITTLE UNDERSTANDING!!
