AMC unethical practices uses foreclosures to rip off consumers.

Last year due to an ex's bills, my check was garnished for over 6 months causing me to fall behind on all my bills. My house was in foreclosure and I had a forebearance agreement with Ameriquest. I paid over $3,000 in the last of November and then made payments as directed until January. I lost my job at the end of January. My employer fought the unemployment and I did not get a hearing until mid April where I finally did get unemployment.

Throughout this process, I sent faxes and made calls to Ameriquest (amc) to let them know what was going on. When I finally spoke to someone, he said to wait until the original agreement ran out and they would do a new one. I never heard anything back so when I received a regular bill from AMC, I sent checks for $3600 and a letter on May 16.

Yesterday, they returned the checks by mail. I called AMC and I told him about the faxes and what the other person had said about a new agreement. He said that the initial payment last year was mostly for fees even though he said the foreclosure had been cancelled by the forebearance. This person said they filed ANOTHER foreclosure on May 30 so I will have to come up with $10,000 to stop the second foreclosure.

I am at my wit's end. Can you help, please?
