Telephone Banking Menu ripoff

I have finally had enough of B of A and here is why:

RE: Bad Service - Closing of CD & Checking Account

Dear Sir:

I have a checking account and a no risk CD with your bank, have had them for a year.

Now and then I take money from my CD and deposit it into my checking account. I know from experience that your normal CS number of 800 432 1000 can not help me and they just need to transfer me to the correct extention.

I have always hated your automated menu, it is a total waste of my time to have to wade through this nonsense when all I need is to speak to an 'operator' to get transferred to the extention that I need. Today it took me 2 min 32 sec. To get to an operator and when I did she transferred me immediately but I got only a phone company recording telling me that the number I wanted was 'not in service'! Of course your operator was no longer on the line.

So I was back where I started with the stupid menu. This time when an operator came on the line I asked for a supervisor and I told them what is outlined above and that I really resented the time and effort I had to spend just to talk to a person and I further added that when my CD expired 7/11/06 I would be moving my funds to another, more customer friendly bank.

The Supervisor told me that while she could help me get connected to the CD department that as far as the 'menu' went I would just have to 'get use to it'. I told her that I would not be 'getting use to it' as I would be banking elsewhere immediately.

She transferred me to the CD people and rather than simply taking a few hundred out for my checking account I closed the 10k certificate and had it all put into checking where I will close that account within a week.

I don't like your bank wasting my time with your idiotic menu and I am not about to put up with your people telling me that I will just have to 'get use to it'. I have had enough BS from Bank of America and this time next week I will be a former customer.
