AMC Due to Ameriquest and their ripoff tactics family of 5 is Homeless

I bought a home 17 years ago. I refinanced with Ameriquest in February. Ameriquest seemed to be a reputable company and I had received many letters from them offering to help refinance my home. I decided to refinance for a lower interest rate. I was quoted one rate but on closing day actually had a much higer rate.

I am a retired on disability 46 year old mother of three. My credit was better than my husbands. So Ameriquest refinanced in my name only. They were aware of my income and the amount of my income. I faxed them all the information they needed.

Ameriquest offered me a monthly payment of 550.00 to 600.00 per month. Ameriquest are theives and they preyed on a hard working individual (myself) to take advantage of and they knew that by refinacing my home at a high rate and over priced finance charges that they would soon be able to take over my property and sell it for profit. The amount that I had refinanced for could not be refinanced by any other company because Ameriquest pumped up the amount to a rate that my home cound not substantiate. Subsequently, causing me to be locked into a contract with Ameriquest... Either pay them or lose my home to them that is how it was structured. Ameriqueat was so certain of their position that they did not even bother to send real representatives they sent a courier to my home for me to sign papers and close on the refinancing.

My monthly note ended up being over 700.00 per month. This became harder to pay since I was on Social security and a small retirement income. When I fell 2 months behind. I offered them one months payment they refused it saying I needed to pay the 2 months at one time. Any amount less than that would not be accepted. I could not pay that amount due to the fact I did not receive that amount on my social security check.

Ameriquest started foreclosure procedures that same month. Then they offered to have me short sell my home. But did not get me the paperwork to short sell the house. The home was forclosed on September 27th.

Ameriquest seemed to have been waiting on me to fall behind. I was under their contract a total of 8 months before I was completely homeless. And I had to file bankruptcy. I do not know how I will recoup from this horrible situation. I wish I had never been influenced by those ads and the phone conversations with the Ameriquest representatives.

Now we are a family of 5 that is totally homeless. I have been sued by the folks who bought the house in foreclosure to vacate the house. This comes just a month after my bankruptcy has been discharged. And I have a fee to pay to the court to boot.

I hope others examine reports like this one before they jump at a refinance offer they receive in the mails and jeopardize their most prized possession, "their Homes". Ameriquest seems to be trustworthy... But think again. I have found Ameriquest to be theives... And now homewreckers.
