Merrick tries to get you to cancel your account if you pay on time and pay no fees ripoff

I have had a Merrick Bank Master Card with line of credit for 1 year.in that period of time, I have been able to pay either the entire balance or the amount owed on the day that they bill me. They tried in the past to get fees and only once did I make the mistake of paying a week before the due date and of course they said, "whoops that came late". So, at that time they tacked on $90.00 of misc. Charges and I vowed never again to give them a nickel.

It is apparent that I am NOT the type of customer they want - pays on time no fees. They want to act like the vultures that they are and take steps to get you so pissed off that you cancel the card. Their latest tactics and how I got around it:

1 - Holding payment for 14 days to clear - First time when I paid within that time, they denied the charge at the point of use as 14 days had not gone by. Called from point of purchase and they said "sorry, tough shit". If I need to use the card (car rentals) I solved that by paying on the day they bill me, calling them 2 or 3 times to check if it was credited. Important to note that their CS people lied twice and said it was credit, but was not. (Even better way to piss off the customer)

2 - They cranked up the ammunition and the next time I used the card with funds available on the card it WAS DENIED at point of purchase. Why? Because they said there was "confusion in the posting process".

So, do you get the drift? They want to rip you off. I have given up on using them for anything anymore, so now, I have paid my balance down to $44.00 and simply pay what they ask on the day they want it. Just to continue to annoy them because they will never get another nickle out of me.

Can you imagine the chutzpah of this monstrous company taking what-ever efforts they can to piss off the very customers they purport to want, but don't. Rather have people they can suck the life out of with big, fat unethical and egregious fees.
