Huge ripoff and scam for small business owners just starting or otherwise

My husband and I recently started a new business and were contacted not even two days after getting our license about a credit card system. We were initially hesitant, but decided to try it out after the represenative told us if we were not satisfied we could have it tranferred out. After two months we decided that it wasn't going to work out for us as our business did not pick up.

I contacted the represenative to see about getting it transferred only to be told that all he could do was try and get it tranferred, but may take some time because he had been ill. I could understand and agreed to hold off for a few weeks until he could find someone.

After a month I called back only to get the same story and that it was now my responcibilty to find someone to transfer the machine to. I soon found that my account was being drafted more money than what was originally told to us, which caused my account to become overdrawn and eventually closed due to fees with each time they tried to draft it.

Again I contacted this man to no avail. I also contacted the BBB to find out what could be done, they suggested that I try to get the problem solved before contacting them. Still not solved! Now the phone calls started and even when I asked them if I could not just send the machine back (as I have not even ran a transaction on it at all) they said NO, that I had a contract with them and would not be able that they would not accept it back because I had a lease agreement. The phone calls are a nightmare. I have been on the phone with one person from the company and another is beeping in on the other line. I get at least 10 calls per day - everyday.

As it stands now, due to no business at all, my husband and I are going out of business and have a machine that we are going to end up paying for that won't do us any good at all. As our business had come at the worst time (Just 1 month before Katrina).

I am open to any advice on how I can get this matter resolved where we can have some peace from a company that apparently thinks all businesses make it and people can live on air and water. As for our income-We live on what my husband makes at his regular paying job-not our business.By the way the Rep got our information as a new business from the clerks office in our city.
