Chris Alvarez Abusive staff lies, fails to update account, attempts extortion Ripoff collection agency

GC Services is a shaddy collection agency attempting to extort people out of money they due not owe through threats of ruined credit.

I had a ticket at the LA Courthouse which was sent to GC Services before the ticket was due. GC Services tried to get me to pay late fees even after I faxed a letter from the courthouse showing my payment was not late. They continued to leave threatening message stating I owed over $600 in late fees. I asked to speak to a manager multiple times, left messages on his machine, and never received callbacks, except by representatives who threatened to ruin my credit unless I paid them late fees I did not owe. My attempts to have a rep research and correct the account start an argument during which they accuse me of trying to 'weasel out of what I owe'. I have paid the amount the court showed I owe and on time, but I shall not pay this extortion money.

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of LA. I am considering filing a restraining order in Oklahoma to get them to stop this. If this continues, I will contact an attorney about filing charges. If they even try to touch my credit, they can be assured I'll serve them papers within the same week.
