Washington Mutual
Ripoff extorts late charges, forces escrow accounts, charges late fees for early, payments

Business & Finance

These are just to name a few of the contiuous problems I have had since washington mutual bought our mortgage. Originally we started with Fleet Bank—another mistake. This is the real reason I am writing, perhaps this will save someone from making the same mistake I did 12 years ago.

When trying to purchase our home we looked for the BEST loan rate and instead of going with a local bank, we decided to save. 25% on the rate and went with fleet. Our real trouble began when WAMU took over. I implore anyone searching for the best mortgage rates-good luck! But please do not make a similar mistake. KNOW YOUR MORTGAGE HOLDER! Do a google search, in this case "Washington Mutual". I wish I had. You will find complaint after complaint with a few class action grievences thrown in to further convince you.
