Purposely Makes Payments Late ripoff

I used to have a credit card with Capital One and I always made my payments on time. One time, I didn't get my bill until a few days before it was due. At the time I was living in the England, so I made sure to send it express mail. I was told by the post office that it would be there within 3 days. I figured it would be there no problem.
Next month, when I got my statement, I had a late fee of $25.00 added to my account. I called them and they said that my payment was 16 days late. I told them how I sent it express mail and how I was living in the UK but they still charged me the late fee. Since I sent it express they had to have gotten it. The only way it could have been 16 days is if they purposely held it. I have heard that credit card companies do that so that they can charge people late fees.
I also had some charges made on my account in another country that I never made. The customer service representative I talked to was very rude and I had to contact them several times in order to get the charges taken off of my account.
Immediately after these incidents I payed off my card and cancelled it. I will never do business with them again. Whatever you do don't get a Capital One Card!!! They treat their customers badly and add bogus charges to your account.
