Incompetent - Dishonest - Deceptive Practices

I bought a wonderful Bed, but HC Processing has to go!

In preparation for a residential move, I notified HC Processing of my new address. After over a month of not receiving a bill, I phoned in to HC, only to be notified that they never recorded my new address. I attempted to negotiate the reversal of the late charges assessed, but with no luck. They wanted a payment, with late charges included, immediately. More negotiations with supervisors to no avail.

I left the country for about five weeks for an emergency business trip. HC Processing harassed my roommates for weeks, by calling and refusing to discuss the matter. Phoning as late as 10pm. Phoning my parents as many times as four and five times each day, then refusing to discuss the matter. I attempted to make payments from overseas, but the customer service department would only transfer me into their automated payment system, which prompts for a PIN number, which did not work. After 5 consecutive unsuccessful attempts, with the assistance of the customer service department, I finally gave up.

Finally, upon my return, I received a Statement with payment due on April 29. I attempted a phone payment on April 22, but they willfully refused to accept any payments. They claim that my account has been pre-maturely closed and no further payments will be accepted. They also claim that this is now a legal matter.

My attorney says that the behavior of HC Processing has left them in a very actionable position. Although I have never sued anyone before, I feel that my rights have been significantly violated.

HC Processing has proven themselves to be extremely incompetent. I pointed out to the legal department at HC that many laws under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act had been violated, but the supervisor of the Legal Dept. Explained to me that her company does not have to adhere or comply to Federal Law.

Scary company.
