In debt not insane ripoff

The first sign of trouble came when the appraisal on our home cambe back at $140,000.00. None of the homes in our area appraise for that much, even the ones that look to be in mint condition. Our home needs some repairs and must be painted this year.

The second sign came when they wanted to get a faxed verification of my husbands income even though we had given them W2s and 1040 for the current and past year and recent check stubs.

The next sign came when they told me I could sign the loan without my husband even though his name does appear on our current mortgage.

They came back with a ridiculous monthly payment and a higher interest rate than what we currently pay. When I told the loan manager no, he tried every line he could come up with to get me to change my mind. He even offered to remove fees, pay off all our bills and give us cash. The whole process was too rushed and demanding for my taste.

We have previously been burned by Household Finace, they presented us with a deal that was too good to be true and when we tied to cancel they said it was too late, even though it was the next day, they claimed they had already mailed the checks to pay off our bills. Therefore I had to really be careful not to get back in another situation like that. They're pitch sounds good and if it were not for the high fees and lies that they tell it would be a very helpful service for people in need.

My strong advise, don't bother to call them at all; run in another direction. Don't let them take your home, they do not care about it or you.
