Ripoff! Lie, cheat, change cost and interest rate, fund loan late, over charge

I AM A BUSINESS OWNER AND Have been for over 15 years
one of my companies is a mortgage business. I am licensed with the state of Florida AS A MORTGAGE BROKERAGE BUSINESS.

I seldom charge fees to the client. The banks pay me on the back and thats about 1% to 1.5%. Thats very fair and thats why i dont have to advertise. Word of mouth and repeat business is how i live.

I needed to do a loan for myself on my primary residence. I could have had one of my brokers do the loan for me with my company but i didnt want any chance of breaking arms length transaction or have look like i get any better then anybody else.

So i was prepared to let them make a fair amount and do my loan, robert flannegan was the loan officer.
Everything he said was just how i needed it so the deal sounded good. They rushed everything and in five days they sent some of thier employees that are notarys out to sign the final forms.

When i looked at the settlement statment i was shocked
on a loan of $140,000.00 he had over $12,000.00 in fees.
$6,500.00 just as an origination fee, then another $1,250.00 in bank fees, the appraisal that i had already paid for was now $500.00 etc... Etc. It was higher then any fees i had ever seen after all my years in the mortgage business.

The next day i recieved a call from the manager it seems robert flannegan had now vanished from the picture and he was going to take care of me real good... So he said!

We went back and forth until we agreed on a deal,
but i had to fight my way thru it. It was still high but i had now run out of time and i had to either close or have a thirty day late on my mortgage. They played it out and we closed.

I would warn everybody... As a mortgage professional,
if they can con me, the average person has a tough battle! Just avoid them and warn everyone!
