Sent email my banking information and I have never heard of this company

I received an e-mail request from Washington Mutual asking for my banking information. I find this interesting because I have never heard of this company nor have I ever done business with this company.
I did not respond to the e-mail but will report it as fraudulent activity. I have learned more about Washington Mutual through rip off report and hope this will help others that may get a similar e-mail.
