Ripoff con artists fraudulent scam pushy

Ameriquest are a bunch of crooks. They promised to get me a lower interest rate for refinancing my house. They were able to beat it by a long shot, so I thought. He would not send my rate quote and fees until I signed the payoff information. After about ten emails of tip-toeing around it, he finally sent me the fees and rates. When I received the documentation of fees, I noticed they were trying to charge me over 8,000 dollars in fees for "discount points". Discount points are points you can purchase in order to get your rate lowered. So they basically lowered my rate by charging me these points and made it seem like they were giving me competitive rates. They did not even tell me. This defeats the entire purpose of lowering my rate because if I did not pay for the points, my rate would be even higher than it is now. When I told him that I would not take the loan with those fees, my agent all of a sudden told me that there was a regional manager who happened to be in town for that ONE DAY and he could talk to him and have him give me the rate without the points ONLY if I came down to close that night. I felt very skeptical at that point and decided to back out of the whole thing. I noticed his approach changed and he got angry.instead of being the "I'll do anything for you" guy, he became the "I'm going to tell you how it is" guy and started telling me that I will not be able to get a loan anywhere, pointing out all my credit problems and this that and the other. He even called me a "Loan Shopper" and said I wasn't at all serious about getting the loan in the first place. Every time I tried to get closure by explaining to him why he blew the deal he threw political talk back at me, making a sales point (Very manipulative). This is not the type of thing you expect from a mortage company. These guys are TERRIBLE and will do ANYTHING to get you to sign with the high fees. He tried to charge me over 8,000 dollars and by the time I told him I did not want to go through with it he WAVED the whole fee! He was basically preying on people who don't know any better. They are a bunch of crooks they are very pushy and they will do anything to sign a loan. They did not get me, but I can imagine they have gotten their share of suckers. Beware.
