Ripoff Charging $10 a month to pay mortgage over the phone! No Monthly Statement!

My manufactured home mortgage with Chase Manhattan has been bought out by Vanderbilt. I contacted Vanderbilt by phone to inquire about online payments, phone payments, payment via my online credit union service, and monthly statements so that I can keep track of interest and principle made each month. What horrible service! No online service, sorry, we are working on it!

Oh, sure, you can pay by phone. It is $10 a month. $120 PER YEAR TO PAY A BILL? Chase did this for FREEEEEEE! And, if I want to find out how much interest and principle I paid for the month, I have to call every single month, from my cell phone using daytime minutes while on my break at work because they do not have 24 hour service. Get with it, vanderbilt. It shouldn't cost me extra money to PAY MY BILL. I arranged to pay my mortgage from my bank account—but after reading the complaints on your website about losing checks and not crediting payments, taking extra unauthorized payments, I'm scared to death and feel forced to pay an extra $120 a year to pay by phone.

I'm also afraid they will take more than I approve, leaving me destitute for the month. This is unbelievable. Perhaps they think people who live in mobile homes are idiots??? Well, not this one! I have a master's degree and a professional license. I will pursue their unfair practices to my complete satisfaction.
