Palisades Collection - TxCollect - AT&T Wireless huge ripoff

I got a letter dated Dec. 29 from TxCollect Inc. (aka Palisades) in Austin, TX with regards to an AT&T wireless bill. I had paid this bill in full in early and I started searching my bank records.in addition, I know that AT&T Wireless had merged with Cingular earlier this year. I called and left a message but my calls have not yet been returned.

My belief is that this is a complete scam. I am going to get their information in writing. I am also considering filing a police report with the Austin, TX authorities for what it's worth.
