Told I Still Owe Php 3000 After Paying Off Card

In the first week of July this year, I called 995-9999 and asked for my remaining balance so I could pay off my Citibank credit card balance.

The agent said I still owed the company around Php 4000, so I paid it immediately, and I was told that I just needed to wait for the certificate of full payment.

After 3-5 days, which the agent said is how long it takes to get the approval, I followed up by calling. Again I was told to wait 3-5 more working days.

So I did. Then the agent before the one I spoke to today, a week ago, said that I just needed to wait for the certificate to arrive by courier at my house in 7-10 banking days. I gathered that the approval had already been made.

Today I made another follow-up call to be sure that I would receive the certificate soon. The agent who spoke to me said I still have a balance of Php3000 plus, which is why the certificate has not been sent yet.

The call got disconnected twice, and I couldn't call the number anymore.

I have been paying this debt for 4 years, and the least I would like to experience is not being hung up on and being spoken to the right way. Citibank agents say different things every time I call. I hope they will be more careful in the words they use with clients, as this can make them liable for any discrepancies caused by giving wrong information.
