Share Sale Check Never Sent to Branch, Happened Twice

Needed some cash quick from my individual account. Instructions were to sell some shares, have check ready for me at local branch 2 days later. Went there, no check. They did sell shares, but no follow thru on issuing check and sending to branch office. There's something else - this is the second time it's happened. I'm changing to another company. Is there one that I can rely on?
