The reason to stay from credit cards—period!

All I have to say about this card is... STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY!

I received an offer in the mail for the Aspire visa card. I never bothered to apply for it, and never intend to apply for it. Just the fees alone made me want to laugh in their faces:

ANNUAL FEE—$150! You read this correctly... That's $150 each year of your hard-earned money to just hold this card in your hands.

ACCOUNT OPENING FEE—$29 To just establish the account. They call it an "opening fee" when in actuality TO OPEN THE ACCOUNT AND USE IT YOU MUST PAY AT MINIMUM ANOTHER $20 when you receive the card in the mail.

OH, AND DON'T FORGET THE ONGOING MONTHLY MAINTENANCE FEE TO FURTHER ENCOURAGE THE OUTSOURCING OF OUR JOBS, which to my understanding have already been shipped to INDIA by the bank that issues this ridiculous card, Columbus Bank & Trust Company—location of the bank being "who knows where!?"

As the title of my posting states, this credit card is THE REASON to stay away from all credit cards. What this Aspire card has shown me is that credit card companies will resort to any tactic to take advantage of people and should be taken out of business. I read the fine print and I throw them all away. These companies are leeches preying on anyone who is willing to fall into their traps. I always read the fine print, and I have yet to see any credit card that didn't have enormous interest rates, outrageous and stupid fees, and the fact they can change your fixed rates to variable rates when they please.

It's past time for our Congressmen to do something about these leeches.
