MetLife loans has harassed us to no end due to a clerical error that they made two years ago in August.
We authorized them to take our July payment on July 3rd. They did not take it on the authorized date but waited till the 15th, yet didn't post the draft till the 28 th. For August we got three bills... One showing we were current, one showing we were a month behind and one showing we were three months behind.

The later of the three was billing for September, but due date dated for August 1st. We called the company and wanted to know what was going on. Now we had gotten use to them receiving payments on the third and not posting till the 15th or later, generating late charges, but this was way out of line. We were current and basically their records showed us two months behind.

I has been over two years of making 100 to 200 dollar extra in payments every month and tons of collection calls on the account. Accompanied by harassing phone calls 8 and 9 times a day. They have destroyed our credit and talked to as if we were the lowest of pond scum. They have threatened foreclosure and call us names. Making statements like. "If you weren't such a deadbeat you wouldn't be getting these calls all day.

Now our payments started out at 382 a month and have grown 100 dollars a month since the bought our loan from Horizon. They said it was due to escrow amounts going up, but both taxes and insurance on the property have decreased.

When I questioned them about where the 4800 dollars in extra money we had sent in to them went. They said it was applied to our escrow... Now if we were behind. Doesn't seem to reason that they would apply this to the arrears... They had made adjustments in our payment to cover the escrow. When Horizon had our loan we never had a problem and received a check at the end of the year for the over payment to our escrow... Now we end up paying more for payments that are less.

They tried to force us into selling the home on a short sale and I refused and told them to get a lawyer... We have been harassed and belittled and even screamed at... We have gotten anywhere between 5 and 15 calls a day on the account even after we made arrangements to make our regular payment... We are now paying 800 this month and 758 for the next 6 months to catch things up and avoid any further late charges... Like they won't find a way to get those... So when is enough enough? And when do we as consumers get someone to stand up and say this isn't right and it needs to be stopped...
