This company sent an email, which is VERY CRAFTILY designed to appear as a bill for Domain Registration, although it is actually an offer for SEO services... The "clarification" is written in the tiniest print, in the palest font color, against a pale background at the very bottom.

It is obvious by their word choice, that they are leading one to believe that their domain registration is expiring—I had to spend alot of time deciphering it, even though I knew for a fact that I purchased my domain name for several years—I just couldn't believe the unscrupulous nature of the ad.
